WEATHER BLOG: Brutal Cold

Brutal cold has invaded the mid-Atlantic. This morning, we tied our record low temperature of 6 degrees set back in 1943, and today's high only made it to 18 officially at BWI. These cold temperatures combined with powerful winds made it feel sub-zero. Wind chill advisories and warnings are currently in effect for the entire region through tomorrow a.m. with wind chills dipping as low as 25 degrees for some areas. We will challenge our record low temperature (5 degrees set back in 1905) once again Monday morning with the current forecast low around 3 degrees.

Clouds will increase Monday out ahead of our next storm system. A winter storm watch is currently in effect for the entire state and will likely be upgraded to either winter weather advisories or winter storm warnings within the next several hours. For more information, click here.
