Towson Defeats College of Charleston 53-50

CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) -- Timajh Parker-Rivera scored 12 points and Towson made six free throws in the final 32 seconds to hold off College of Charleston 53-50 on Sunday.

The Tigers (12-15, 5-9 Colonial Athletic) took a 47-46 lead on a putback by John Davis, Towson's fourth shot of the possession, with 44 seconds left. John Chealey missed for the Cougars (7-20, 2-12), forcing them to foul.

A.J. Astroth made a pair of free throws at 32 seconds and Byron Hawkins made two with 20 seconds left but both times Charleston scored quickly. It wasn't until after Four McGlynn hit two at 13 seconds that the Cougars missed with Astroth corralling the rebound and running out the clock.

Chealey led Charleston with 13 points.

Walter Foster had 11 rebounds and Mike Morsell 10 for the Tigers, who had a 51-35 advantage. Towson went 14 of 20 from the foul line while Charleston was 9 of 21.
