Gun, Ammo Found In Home Of School Shooting Threat Suspect
CLEAR SPRING, Md. (AP) -- Deputies say they found a .22-caliber pistol and five rounds of ammunition in the home of a convicted criminal who threatened to shoot a student at a western Maryland high school.
Twenty-year-old Jacob Hess of Hagerstown was being held at the Washington County jail Tuesday with bond set at $75,000.
No defense attorney is listed for Hess in online court records. His attorney in a 2013 case stemming from a string of building and vehicle fires didn't respond to messages from The Associated Press.
Deputies arrested Hess Friday after he allegedly told someone he planned to shoot a student and himself at Clear Spring High School.
Hess pleaded guilty in 2013 to conspiracy to commit first-degree malicious burning. He served two weeks in jail.
