Orioles Name Minor League Managers, Coaches & Staff

The Baltimore Orioles organization has named the coaching staffs for their eight minor league affiliates for the 2015 season.

At Triple-A Norfolk, Ron Johnson will be managing the Tides for the fourth season after a 65-79 record last year. Johnson has been a minor league manager for 22 seasons and has a 1477-1479 record throughout his career. He is currently 68 wins away from tying the record for most managerial wins in Tides franchise history. The Tides pitching coach for the sixth season in Norfolk and eighth within the organization is Mike Griffin. Sean Berry, formerly the Hitting Coordinator with the San Diego Padres (2011-2014) and Hitting Coach for the Houston Astros (2006-2010) is the new Hitting Coach for the Tides. The field coach for the third consecutive season and sixth year in the organization is Jose Hernandez. Mark Shires is once again named as the athletic trainer for the 9th year at Norfolk and 16th in the O's system. The Tides' stregth and conditioning coach for his third season is Trevor Howell.

Gary Kendall is named manager of the Double-A Bowie Baysox for his fifth season. Alan Mills moves from Delmarva to Bowie to be the Baysox pitching coach. Keith Bodie is the Baysox new hitting coach after spending 16 seasons in the Astros system. Bowie's strength and conditioning coach is once again Pat Armstrong.

The Frederick Keys manager is Orlando Gomez. They also name Kennie Steenstra as the pitching coach, Paco Gifueroa as the hitting coach, strength and conditioning coach Chris Cecere and Chris Poole is the athletic trainer.

Ryan Minor returns for his second consecutive year and fifth total as the Delmarva Shorebirds' manager. Minor managed the Keys for one season in 2013. The Shorebirds' pitching coach is Blaine Beatty. Their hitting/field coach is Howie Clark and Trek Schuler returns as the shorebirds athletic trainer.

The Aberdeen Ironbirds name Luis Pujols as their manager, Justin Lord as pitching coach, Scott Thomas as field coach, athletic trainer Brian Guzman, and Kevin Clark as the S&C Coach.

The Gulf Coast League Orioles will be managed by Matt Merullo. Their pitching coach is former major leaguer Wilson Alvarez. Their field coach will be Ramon Sambo. Milt May is the hitting coach and Marty Brinker is the trainer.

In the Dominican Summer League, Elvis Morel and Nelson Norman will manage the Orioles' two teams. Robert Perez and Dionis Pascual will assist them as pitching coaches and Benny Adames as hitting coach. Also assisting will be Ramon Caraballo (field supervisor), Ramon Lubo (catching), Ruben Francisco (field coach), Ludovino Marte (trainer) and Anthony Adames (S&C).

Brian Graham has been named Director of Player Development and Rick Peterson returns as Director of Pitching Development. Jeff Manto has also been named Minor League Hitting Coordinator.

Jake Parker - Minor League Equipment Manager
Franklin Garcia - Dominican Equipment Manager
