ANNAPOLIS, Md. (WJZ) -- Police are investigating the theft of a $21,000 ring from an Annapolis store.

According to Annapolis police, a man entered a jewelry store in the 100 block of Main Street Thursday around 10:10 a.m. and stole a sapphire and diamond "Princess Diana" style white gold ring.

The suspect was talking to employees, police said, when he stole the ring and hid it under his coat.

The man is described as being in his mid to late 50s and is 6-foot-1. He was last seen wearing a black knit hat, dark rimmed glasses, a knee-length wool coat, a grey sweater, white- or light-colored collared shirt and dark pants and shoes.

After exiting the store, he ran down Main Street toward Francis Street.
