USA Captain Mike Eruzione Reflects On The Anniversary Of The Miracle On Ice

Mike Eruzione was the captain of the USA Hockey 'Miracle On Ice' team that won the gold medal in 1980.

Mike joined Ed and Steve to talk about the 35th anniversary of the Miracle On Ice which was yesterday the 22nd.

Mike started off by talking about the Miracle team's reunion in Lake Placid yesterday saying "we had about 5,000 fans and we showed some highlights and it was very bittersweet because we retired the jersey of Bobby Suter who passed recently." As for whether or not it was the biggest upset in the history of sports Mike said "I think it was, you always have great upsets in other sports but it's usually an even playing field...we were college kids playing the best hockey team in the world." Mike also talked about everything that was going on in the country at that time from trouble overseas to economic and financial troubles at home and how this team made people feel good to be an American again.
