MTA Police Investigate Car Collision With MTA Light Rail Train

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- A car collided with a Maryland Transit Administration Light Rail train in southwest Baltimore Friday morning causing minor injuries to 30 passengers.

According to MTA police, the accident happened in the 2200 block of Kloman Street around 10:22 a.m. disrupting service between the Patapsco Station and Camden Yards.

The driver of a vehicle was transported to Maryland Shock Trauma.

Police continue to investigate the crash. Power to the overhead catenary wires were turned off as emergency crews removed the driver from the car.

The car was removed from the scene of the crash and then they towed the train.

A bus bridge has been set up between the affected stations.

Service was restored around 1:30 p.m.
