Broken Pipe Coats Road With Ice In Downtown Frederick

FREDERICK, Md. (AP) -- City officials say a broken water pipe has caused icy conditions on South Market Street in downtown Frederick.

The broken pipe was reported before dawn Saturday morning near the intersection of South Market and All Saints streets. By shortly after 7 a.m., crews had managed to open one lane of northbound South Market Street to traffic.

Drivers are asked to use extreme caution because of icy conditions and to watch out for workers on the site. Crews are working to repair the pipe.
