AACo Police Seek Suspect In Shooting Near Arundel Mills

ARUNDEL MILLS, Md. (WJZ) -- Police in Anne Arundel County are still trying to find the person who shot at another motorist near the Arundel Mills mall.

Mike Schuh has new video from police.

Police think new video will solve the case. It's a compilation of numerous surveillance cameras at the businesses on the east side of Arundel Mills Circle.

"So we have released surveillance video of the suspect vehicle in the hope that someone recognizes it. In the hopes that it can point us in the right direction as to whom this suspect is," said an official.

On February 24 at 7:30 a.m., the 61-year-old driver of a Honda Pilot had his windows shot out.

"When they turned on Arundel Mills Boulevard heading to Rt. 100, for some reason, the person opened fire on him," said an official.

He doesn't speak English, so he went home to Glen Burnie and asked a fluent friend to call police. By that time, detectives knew the car was long gone, but also knew that with all the cameras in the area, it would show up somewhere---and it did.

"This was a bitterly cold morning; he had his windows down, all four of them on his vehicle. So again, if this aroused your suspicions, if you happened to see a vehicle fitting this description, that's the person we want to hear from," said an official.

That model of the Lincoln Town Car was last made in 2011, but there are a lot of them out there. Police can't say what state license plates the car had---nor do they have a motive.

The driver of the Honda was shaken but not injured.

If you recognize the car or have any information, please call Anne Arundel County police.
