2 Taken To Hospital After Carbon Monoxide Exposure

TAKOMA PARK, Md. (AP) -- Montgomery County fire officials say two people were taken to an area hospital after being exposed to high levels of carbon monoxide inside their Takoma Park home.

Fire department spokesman Pete Piringer says rescuers responded to a home on Forston Street on Tuesday for a 911 call reporting a man having a seizure and passing out. At the home, Piringer says firefighters' detectors found carbon monoxide levels of about 600 parts per million. Anything above 30 parts per million is considered hazardous.

Piringer says the man in his 60s was taken to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries and his wife was also transported with less serious injuries.
