WEATHER BLOG: Saturday

Yesterday was a rather chilly day, with temperatures peaking in the middle to upper 40s around the region as clouds increased in the afternoon. Rain began last evening and continued through the night. through much of the day today.

Temperatures will be stuck in the lower 50s for much of the day, but once rain tapers later this afternoon, temperatures into the middle to upper 50s will be likely. Total rainfall will total around 0.50 of an inch with locally higher amounts possible.

-Wettest period around the city will be until 10AM.

-Rain will taper from west to east between 12PM and 4PM.

Sunday will be much drier as an upper low passes nearby bringing colder air aloft over the region. There may be a few showers around, but most of the precipitation should be to the north of the city. It will also be breezy with winds gusting past 30mph at times.

This upper low will move east Monday, and southwest flow will transport warmer air into the region ahead of another cold front. Temperatures Monday will be in the upper 50s, and I would not be surprised if some got into the low 60s this day.

The cold front will move through Monday night, allowing for cooler weather to return for the middle of the week.

Have a good day!
