Police Investigate Fatal Crash On Eastern Ave

BALTIMORE COUNTY, Md. (WJZ) -- Baltimore County police are investigating a crash Tuesday night that killed an elderly man.

Around 10:47 p.m., Baltimore County police and fire responded to the intersection Eastern Av enue and Diamond Point Road for a report of a crash involving a tractor-trailer and a car.

A preliminary investigation revealed that the tractor-trailer was traveling eastbound on Eastern Avenue when it stopped at the green signal to make a wide U-turn to go westbound.

A 1991 Oldsmobile Cutlass was traveling westbound and struck the truck it turned into its path.

Ninety-three year old Edwin Thomas Klunk Jr, off the 300 block of Walton Drive in Brooklyn Park, was declared dead on the scene.

The driver of the tractor-trailer was not injured.

Police say the initial investigation revealed the driver of the truck was at fault for the crash.

This incident remains under investigation by the Baltimore County Police Department Crash Team.
