Imagination Comes To Life On Stage At BSA

BALTIMORE (WJZ)-- A quarter of the students at the Baltimore School for the Arts are involved in a fascinating live performance--the likes of which have never been seen before on their stage.

Mike Schuh takes us behind the curtain for a look.

It's nothing short of amazing when you see the transformation performed by the Baltimore School of the Arts students. Stunning, simple and complex at the same time, surely this is the work of long time professionals.

The professional behind the scene directing the show is alumni Kate Fisher, a New York choreographer and dancer with international credits to her name.

Kate Along with Alvin Ailey's costume director are bringing this mix of dance, tech, computers, and live music to the school's stage.

SCHUH: "This is stuff that most high school productions are not going to be using."

"Absolutely. I think that's' what's visionary about the mission that Chris Ford is leading. He's really trying to bring cutting edge new stuff, this is the type of technology that these kids are going to be working in and creating in their careers."

As amazing it is to see here on the small screen, imagine this on a screen as big as a house.

"It's kind of intimidating," says Senior Mermia Newman-- feeling the pressure of working with a pro.

Which Kate says it's ok, channeling the pressure into performance is the key.

"That's the craft, that's what we do, so it's essential that they get it."

There are three shows scheduled another will be added if necessary. They will happen on April 17th and 18th, tickets are $10 and $15.
