Md. Farmer Gets Life In Prison For Worker's Shooting Death
CAMBRIDGE, Md. (AP) -- Prosecutors say an Eastern Shore farmer has been sentenced to life in prison for killing a worker who disappeared in 2009.
Dorchester County Circuit Court Judge Brett Wilson sentenced 67-year-old William Hamilton of Hurlock on Thursday. WMDT-TV reports that Hamilton was convicted in February of first- and second-degree murder and assault in the death of 31-year-old Craig Parker in 2009.
Prosecutors say Hamilton acknowledged in a statement that he shot and killed Parker, an employee on his 80-acre farm, then buried him on the property.
Parker's body was never recovered, despite extensive excavation by Maryland State Police.
