5 People Injured, Including Teen, In West Baltimore Shooting

BALTIMORE (WJZ)--A hail of bullets rain down on a crowd of people standing on a sidewalk in West Baltimore. Several people are shot including a 15-year old girl.

As Meghan McCorkell reports, police are hunting down whoever pulled the trigger.

Blood stains the sidewalk where bullets flew into a crowd of people.

Investigators say suspects inside a stolen Honda Pilot pulled up to the 1900 block of West Lanvale and opened fire.

A 15-year old girl was shot, as well as two women--ages 37 and 39-- and a 22 year old man.

"You can't even sit in your steps sometimes," one person said.

Sources tell WJZ a possible fifth victim walked into the western district police station.

Now detectives are trying to hunt down that car.

"What we know is that there were people inside of this vehicle who are brazen shooters who were willing to do whatever it took to get to this corner and fire those shots," said Capt. Eric Kowalczek, Baltimore City Police.

Police encountered the stolen blue silver Honda Pilot with Maryland tags 5BE1423 earlier in the day.

They tried to stop it twice, but the driver sped away.

Neighbors say they've heard gunshots here three days in a row.

"There's just been so many shootings back to back. People just dying everyday," Key Johnson said.

Just last week 23-year-old Sterling Day was shot and killed right around the corner from today's shooting.

No one has been arrested in day's murder. Some fear today's shooting was retaliation.

"It's just like a back and forth type of thing. If I kill you, you going to come back and kill me. My friends going to go kill you. Your friends going to kill me. It's back and forth," said Kendra West.

Now they hope police catch the gunman before anyone else gets hurt.

Police aren't sure how many suspects were inside that car during the shooting.

All of the victims are expected to survive.

Anyone with any information is asked to call police.
