Jake "The Snake" Roberts Joins Scott And Jeremy

WWE Hall of Famer Jake "The Snake" Roberts joined the Scott Garceau Show with Jeremy Conn to tell some stories from the road update some wrestling fans on what he has been up too since retiring from the ring. Jake has been known to have some struggles with drug abuse and alcohol abuse he tells Scott and Jeremy who got him back on the right path. "Diamond Dallas Page, a buddy of mine. He called me and asked me how I was doing, of course I lied as us addicts do, and he asked me 'What do you weigh?' I said 310 pounds and he said are you serious, well let me tell you about this new thing I'm doing it's called DDP Yoga... He sent it too me and I started looking at it and said I can do this. I started to read up on the food, because that interested me because I'm into food. It was about eating clean, no dairy or meat, and I did that and with in like 3 weeks I lost like 10 or 12 pounds. Just me accomplishing that was a spark that sent me on the road because I did not have a winning situation like that in a while."

Jake's signature move throughout his wrestling career was the DDT. Jeremy asked Jake how he came up with that kind of move. "I used to do a little thing with a guy called the grappler, I would front-face lock him. He would push me back into the corner and I would almost let go then we would fight back out into the middle of the ring. After 2 or 3 times finally I would release, and back then my finishing manuever was a knee lift. As soon as he released I caught him with a knee. One night he went to push me back in the corner and he stepped on my foot so we both fell like tubs of crap. I jumped to my feet and yelled 'I didn't fall' because good guys aren't supposed to fall. He didn't get up because he heard the crowd cheer and said 'I think you just found something man.'"

Wrestler's may appear close on screen but Jake says wrestlers tend to go their own ways once their careers are over with. "Wrestling is so hard to develop a real friendship in because you aren't around each other that much. You see a guy here and you see a guy there, but a lot of people are so selfish because they don't have the talent that you have so there is a lot of jealousy involved. But I do have a couple of great friends, 'Hacksaw' Jim Duggan is one of them."
