Bon Appetit! Camden Yards Introduces New Menu

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- Baseball is almost back in Baltimore. In just one day, the 2014 A.L. East Champions will take the field in front of a sold out crowd. It's not just the game fans are looking forward to--baseball games are definitely also about the food.

Amy Yensi has a taste of what's in store.

Move over hot dogs and peanuts. Here in Baltimore, game day cuisine is in a league of its own.

This season, Orioles fans will find new options to munch on while they cheer their home team.

"Baseball is the mainstay, but we want to make sure that in between you get your food and beverage experience and it's on the level, if not exceeds the level, of what you're coming here for," said Josh Distenfeld, executive chef at Oriole Park.

Distenfeld says the restaurant and concession stands will be serving 48,000 people on Friday, so he's hoping the new dishes are crowd-pleasers.

Yensi: "So, what do we have here?"

Distenfeld: "This is our new chipper concept. This one is the bacon chipper, this one is the sweet potato chipper. It's got chocolate sauce, caramel sauce, cinnamon sugar and whipped cream."

It looks good, but Amy Yensi had to taste for herself. Now she's a believer!

Fans can also try the new gourmet soft tacos and the Smithfield pork burger. And don't worry--the bacon on a stick is still on the menu.

Oriole Park at Camden Yards was ranked among the ten best baseball stadiums for food by USA Today.
