Princess Anne Police Chief Retires Amid Carbon Monoxide Tragedy

PRINCESS ANNE, Md. (AP) -- The police chief in Princess Anne has retired while the police department is investigating the accidental deaths of a family of eight due to carbon monoxide poisoning in their home.

Town officials tell The Daily Times that Police Chief Scott Keller has retired after nearly eight years. Capt. Tim Bozman has been named interim chief of the town's police department. He was appointed to lead the department Friday.

Keller's departure comes at a tragic time for the town. A week ago, Keller was leading the investigation of the death of Rodney Todd, a single father, and his seven children. Police found their bodies on April 6 inside their home.

Prior to joining the Princess Anne police force, Keller retired from a career with the Baltimore police department's homicide squad.
