Former Lt. Gov. Brown Trailing In Fundraising For Congress

HYATTSVILLE, Md. (AP) -- Former Lt. Gov. Anthony Brown is trailing former Prince George's County State's Attorney Glenn Ivey in fundraising dollars in their bids for the 4th Congressional District seat.

Federal Election Commission reports due Wednesday show Brown raised about $52,000 in the first quarter, compared to Ivey's $116,000 in donations.

Brown and Ivey are running for the seat left open by Rep. Donna Edwards, who has thrown her hat into ring for retiring Democratic U.S. Sen. Barbara Mikulski's seat.

Brown and Ivey aren't the only candidates looking to represent parts of Prince George's and Anne Arundel counties.

Del. Joseline Pena-Melnyk, a Democrat who represents those counties, is also running. She's raised about $42,000.

Former Prince George's County Council chairwoman Ingrid Turner is vying for Edwards' seat. Her financial reports were not available.
