Shock Trauma Postpones Annual Gala Due To Protests

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- Shock Trauma is postponing their annual gala due to the protests.

In a statement, they said, "The theme of this year's Gala, `Answering the Call,' celebrates the unique, nimble network of individuals who make up Maryland's model Emergency Medical Services system -- first responders, police, firefighters, medical personnel -- who support our community. Out of respect of the important work that these key personnel perform, we believe it is our responsibility to not divert any resources from where they may be needed this evening. Postponing the Gala will also help diminish additional vehicles downtown at a very busy time."

The new date has not been announced.
