Baltimore County Police Investigating Other Riot Threats

BALTIMORE COUNTY, Md. (WJZ) -- Police are investigating several messages on social media that threaten another riot, this time in Baltimore County.

Christie Ileto reports.

Security Square Mall is closed as a precaution and several other schools and universities are closed or closing early as a precautionary measure.

Police say they are aware of the message and they are "taking these messages seriously and has gathered appropriate resources should the need for them occur."

But, at this time there is no evidence of a threat.

"We are concerned. Certainly we're preparing for that. We did experience last night two burglaries where officers immediately entered the building and arrested the individuals, but we experienced no other circumstance last night. There was no disobedience in Baltimore County last night. It was a very peaceful night in Baltimore County," said Chief Jim Johnson, Baltimore County Police Department.

"Let me just also clarify the fact that there might have been two burglaries last night are not necessarily related to events that are taking place in Baltimore City. We'd like to think that Baltimore County is absolutely crime free, but we're as close to that as possible," said Baltimore County Executive Kevin Kamenetz.

County police also continue to support city police.
