Luke Broadwater is a writer who covers City Hall and local politics for The Baltimore Sun.
Luke joined Ed and Steve to talk about the Baltimore riots from yesterday and last night.
Luke started off by talking about where he was last night during the rioting saying “I was by the big fire in East Baltimore, it’s a terrible tragedy it was a new senior citizen housing center and part of a church program…it’s insane and mind boggling as to why that would be set on fire.”
As for the criticism for the city’s response or lack there of Luke said “frankly there is a lot of fair criticism there, as the police commissioner said last night we were out numbered and out flanked by high school kids…the kids were much more fearless than the cops.”
Luke also talked about the restraint shown by the Baltimore City police officers and how impressive it was.
