Neill Franklin On The Beginning Of The Riots At Mondawmin Mall
Neill Franklin is a 34 year veteran of the Maryland State Police and the Baltimore Police Department, and is now the Executive Director of Law Enforcement Against Prohibition and a writer for Huffington Post.
Neill joined Ed and Steve to talk about the rioting, protests, and curfews in Baltimore.
Neill started off by talking about the beginning of the riots at Mondawmin Mall saying "there is a lot that goes in to what happened there a couple days ago...the police department got information off of an Instagram post." As for why that location was picked Neill said he was told by students "they were tired of being mistreated by police at that location." Neill also talked about the strategy of police officers in that situation and how the war on drugs has brought about many compromising positions for the police officers in America.
