Salisbury University Unveils Plans For Campus Makeover

SALISBURY, Md. (AP) -- Salisbury University has unveiled plans for a 10-year-campus makeover.

The Daily Times of Salisbury reports University president Janet Dudley-Eshbach officially unveiled the campus's new facilities master plan Wednesday.

Approved by the University System of Maryland Board of Regents, the plan includes proposals for a new field house, a fine and performing arts complex, new residence halls and academic buildings and the development of walking and biking paths bordering the east campus rail line.

The 10-year plan is broken down into two five-year phases. The construction of the new $117 million academic commons is already underway. The facility has a new library, academic, research and meeting spaces and a $19 million stadium. The facility is schedule to be completed in 2016.

Phase two renovations are scheduled for 2018 to 2023.
