WEATHER BLOG: Warmest Weather Yet Comes Our Way

The surface analysis shows a pressure trough from the eastern St. Lawrence Valley south into the Hudson River Valley and into New Jersey. This combined with lingering cyclonic flow and a week upper-level trough may be enough to spark some spotty shower activity through early this evening. For the most part though, it should just result in some cloud cover. A sprawling ridge of high pressure centered off to our south tomorrow and Monday will bring a warm, southerly flow into the area over the next couple of days allowing temps to warm through Tuesday. A cold front will settle south into the area on Tuesday, but the parent low will be in Atlantic Canada and there will not be much upper level support. We do expect enough instability for showers and t-storms to develop late Tuesday.
