2 Sentenced To Life For Murder Of Baltimore Father

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- Two men got life sentences Monday for the 2012 murder of a Baltimore father.

According to the Baltimore city state's attorney's office, Dontay Dorsey and DeAngelo Anthony were sentenced to Life, suspend all but 30 years, for first-degree murder of Tavon Frederick.

Frederick was murdered in May of 2012 in the 3300 block of Westerwald Avenue in Waverly.

Surveillance video from a nearby school showed Dorsey and Anthony in the area near the rear of Frederick's home moments before the murder took place.

Frederick was found beaten and shot to death in his bedroom. He had been shot four times.

Dorsey's palm print was found on the backdoor and his DNA was found under the victim's fingernails. A cell phone found at the scene revealed texts to and from Anthony, the prosecutor said.

The men stole a PlayStation, money and marijuana from Frederick.

"I'd like to thank Gerard and Detective Dawnyelle Taylor for the work they did on this case. Together, they were able to win justice on behalf of this young man and his family. I know this sentence will not bring a father back to his children—but I hope this will help the family begin their healing process," State's Attorney Marilyn Mosby said.
