Introducing Ravens Undrafted Free Agent Nick Perry

Ravens Safety Nick Perry joined the Scott Garceau Show with Jeremy Conn to talk about signing with Baltimore as a undrafted free agent. Perry spent 5 years with the University of Alabama and totaled 80 tackles and 2 picks in his senior year. Nick talked about what it was like to not hear his name called but look at the positives on his journey to find a team to call home. "Reality is there is only a certain amount of draft picks and there is more players than draft picks so you have to work with what you have. The great thing about being a free agent is that you get to pick your destination. So you get to almost go back to the drawing board and look and see which organization would be the best fit for you whether it's playing time or making a roster spot... It's a privilage to be in the position I'm in now."

Most undrafted free agents come in to the league with a chip on their shoulders and looking to out play others on the roster. Nick believes he would have a chip on his shoulder even if he was drafted. "I mean you have to play with a chip on your shoulder no matter what position you're in, even if I was a first round draft pick I would want to be number one overall... I came in with this mindset that I have to earn everything I'm going to get so you have to come in with a chip on your shoulder and play like that on each and every down."
