Trial Delayed For Man Accused Of Abusing Infant Daughter
HAGERSTOWN, Md. (AP) -- A Hagerstown man charged in with causing serious injuries to his infant daughter in 2013 was granted a continuance in Washington County Circuit Court.
The Herald-Mail of Hagerstown reports the trial for 25-year-old Jacob Daniel Haines has been delayed after a judge granted him the continuance Monday. Online court records show Haines is scheduled to appear for his next hearing June 16.
The details of the continuance were not provided.
Investigators say the incident happened in November 2013 when the child, younger than 2 months old at the time, had a broken arm, two broken legs and several broken ribs.
Haines is charged with eight counts, including two charges of first-degree child abuse resulting in severe physical injury.
