Johns Hopkins Head Coach Dave Pietramala Joins Scott & Jeremy

Dave Pietramala, Head Coach of Johns Hopkins Men's Lacrosse, joined the Scott Garceau Show with Jeremy Conn to discuss Blue Jay's Final Four match-up this weekend against in state rival the Maryland Terrapins. Hopkins had a sluggish start to the season but has found a way to make it to Lincoln Financial Field this weekend. Coach talked about the Blue Jays journey through the 2015 season. "It's been a heck of a journey let's just put it that way. I really think at the end of the day what happened here was a group of young men have come together and been able to find a way in really difficult and trying times to move forward. For me it's been a privilege to have been around them and it has certainly been humbling to see them grow and develop and to have seen them stick together and get to this point."

Johns Hopkins and Maryland are squaring off for the third time this season; Dave talked about how he prepares his team for a third match-up against the Terps. "There is no change and I think we need to keep things the way they've been. We've got to do our best to avoid the noise and keep all the clutter out of our way and focus on Maryland. It's not about the Final Four, and it's not about the National Championship because none of us are in that game. We're playing Maryland right now so we've been very singular in focus. We've got to clean some things up, last game we weren't great in goal and certainly we have been performing better there. We're going to have to be very good at the face off x, this is one of the best in the country if not the best. Defensively they are terrific and we are going to have to find a way not only to defend them but crack their defense which is ranked number one in the country."

Face off between the Johns Hopkins Blue Jays and Maryland Terrapins is this Saturday May 23rd at 3:30 from Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, you can watch the game on ESPN 2.
