Police: Man Who Appeared Drunk Forced Son, 13, To Drive
MONROVIA, Md. (AP) -- The Frederick County Sheriff's Office says a man who appeared to be drunk forced his 13-year-old son to drive his car.
Police say a caller reported seeing a very drunk man leave a Monrovia business in a car with a juvenile about 9:30 p.m. Friday. Authorities say a deputy stopped a car matching the description and found an intoxicated man in the front passenger seat and a 13-year-old driving.
Deputies say the man forced his son to drive because he could not.
Forty-four-year-old Michael Edward McLaughlin of Monrovia was arrested and charged with neglect of a minor, contribute to condition of a child and reckless endangerment.
