Travis Thomas Experience: NBA Finals, O's & Ravens Talk With Brent Harris

There are many people out there who believe being a Sportscaster is easy work. They think you just watch the games and give your opinion (usually wrong) on what you just watched. Those people are not entirely wrong, part of what we do in the media is opinion based and usually wrong! But there is a great deal of preparation, diligence, hard work and dedication that goes into being a Sports Broadcaster.

Throughout my career I've entailed many up's and down's. Everything from personal tragedy, to not getting the opportunities that I deserved. As you read this today, I am still struggling to get my "big break". One thing that has remained throughout all of my trials and tribulations is my unwavering love for sports. I literally can't operate effectively in a social setting unless there is somebody around me who can talk sports with me. All my friends love sports, my fiance loves sports, my family as well, and if I meet somebody who hates sports, I don't trust them!

Actually typing this out makes me realize I may need counseling.

Besides that, it's rare to find somebody in the business who shares the same passion and who grew up locally like I did. I found one in my co-worker Brent Harris from CSN. We often times talk about the Ravens and Orioles, much like you will hear on this Podcast. But in this interview I will take you inside what our conversations usually are about life in our business. I will forever be grateful for Brent Harris and the continual wisdom he always passes on to me.

In this interview we cover everything from the NBA Finals, to the O's and Ravens, and of course life.
