Fatal Shooting Under Investigation In Baltimore County

PARKVILLE, Md. (WJZ) -- Baltimore County police investigate a deadly shooting in a quiet Parkville neighborhood.

Christie Ileto has details.

Police were on scene for several hours. They believe the victim was either shot while inside an apartment or while he was fleeing out the door before he collapsed in the middle of the road.

Baltimore County police were called to the Tall Oaks Apartment Complex in Parkville just before 7 p.m.

They believe the victim was shot at least once. He was taken to a nearby hospital, where he died.

Many people who live there say it is a very quiet neighborhood. They can't believe anything like this would happen.

"Leaving work and then coming from church," a neighbor said. "I just saw that when I pulled. So, yeah. That's a little scary. My daughter's in here. So I'm trying to get in here and see what's going on."

At this point, police believe the victim was targeted, but don't know if he lived in the building.

"When officers arrived, they found an adult male subject with at least one gunshot wound to the upper body area. He was transported to Sinai Hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased," Offc. Jennifer Peach, of Baltimore County Police said.

"This is totally crazy to me," the neighbor added.

Police are still combing through evidence to figure out how many shooters there may have been.
