Baltimore Man Indicted On Gun Possession Charges During Riots

BALTIMORE, Md. (WJZ) — A Baltimore man has been indicted after he was arrested during the Baltimore riots for gun possession.

Police say as they were patrolling in the Pennsylvania/North Avenue section of Baltimore when they found 23-year-old Robert "Meech" Tucker displaying characteristics of an armed gunman. Authorities say when they approached Tucker, he fled and threw a Ruger Blackhaw .357 handgun to the ground. The gun fired as a result, police say no one was hurt.

When officers caught Tucker, police say he repeatedly screamed as if he had been injured by officers. Bystanders began throwing brick and bottles at city police. Tucker was never injured in the incident, police say.

Tucker faces a maximum of 10 years in prison if convicted.

He remains in state custody.
