Some Still Without Power In DC, Md. After Powerful Storm

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Power companies in the Metro area worked to restore power to thousands of residents Sunday after a storm caused flooding, downed trees and outages.

The Washington Post reports that at the peak of the storm roughly 52,000 Dominion Power customers in Northern Virginia were without power, though all but 1,400 of them had their power restored by Sunday afternoon.

Pepco reported 146 customers in Washington, 226 in Montgomery County and 1,301 in Prince George's County were without power on Sunday, as were roughly 671 Baltimore Gas and Electric customers.

Flooding during the storm displaced 29 people in six apartments in a complex in Riverdale, Maryland. There were also several instances of lightning striking structures and severe causing damage.
