1 Dead, 8 Injured In Frederick Co. Boating Accident

FREDERICK COUNTY, Md. (WJZ)—One person is dead, eight others injured following a boating accident in Frederick County, the Maryland Natural Resources Police confirm.

The accident happened  Saturday evening when a boat went over Lake Linganore dam.

Police say eight people were transported on Saturday to be evaluated. The extent of their injures are unknown at this time.

Late Saturday night, police say they recovered the body of a 62-year-old man. He will be taken to the Medical Examiner's Officer for an autopsy.

The Maryland Natural Resources Police is handling the investigation.
