Organization Providing Lunch To Kids During Summer

BALTIMORE, Md. (CBS) -- School is out, hunger is in. Maryland is teaming up with Share Our Strength, a national nonprofit that is working to end child hunger, in an effort to feed kids who rely on school for food in the No Kid Hungry campaign.

This program is providing free meals to kids and teens under 18 at sites across the state in an effort to make sure every child gets the food they need. The sites will also offer fun learning and recreational activities, so kids and teens can stay active while spending time with their friends.

The program is funded by the USDA and is administered locally by the Maryland State Department of Education. The summer meals sites are in the community at safe and supervised locations such as community centers, churches and schools.
