Maryland Inmate Found Dead In Cell; Death May Be Homicide
CUMBERLAND, Md. (AP) -- Corrections officials are investigating the death of an inmate in a Cumberland prison as a possible homicide.
The Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services says the 59-year-old inmate was found dead in his cell at North Branch Correctional Institution Thursday morning.
Officials say the cellmate of the victim is being questioned.
The dead inmate was serving 25 years for sex offenses and has been in prison since 2011. He was not identified pending notification of relatives.
Maryland State Police are investigating.
