David O'Brien With A Preview Of The Orioles Vs Braves Series

David O'Brien is the Atlanta Braves beat reporter for the Atlanta Journal Constitution.

David joined Ken and Steve to talk about the series between the O's and Braves starting tonight at Camden Yards.

Steve asked David about the acquisition of former Oriole Nick Markakis. David said that the organization is very pleased with what Markakis has done for the club this year however he did mention that that the fan reaction to Markakis is "split 50-50, most fans don't like to take into account the leadership and locker room presence some players bring to teams."

Ken asked David about the Braves having three Hall of Fame starting pitchers in their rotation for the better part of a decade. David said that what Atlanta had in Tom Glavine, John Smoltz and Greg Maddux, was very special. "You just don't see teams with three Hall of Fame pitchers in the same rotation for a decade."

David also mentioned that Atlanta fans have become spoiled over the years taking NL East division Titles and playoff appearances for granted which has made their current struggles tough to handle.
