Ravens Excitement Brewing As Football Season Nears

OWINGS MILLS, Md. (WJZ)--We're still weeks away from the first Ravens game of the season, but on Wednesday players showed up for opening day of training camp.

WJZ's Marcus Washington has the excitement already brewing around town.

Opening day of training camp was on the minds of many as the smell of football is just around the corner.

It was a hot radio topic today at 105.7 The Fan as the excitement builds.

" I think we have a great team and I know it has yet to be proven with the receivers," one listener said.

From radio to the place where fans rush to get the newsiest Ravens merchandise everyone is getting ready!

"We're going to probably be busy these next couple weeks since training camp started today," said Ricky Boblits of Poor Boys.

Poor Boys says the men's polos are pretty popular, but everything from hats to jerseys are in full stock.

"They haven't completely released what they're going to be wearing, but normally anything the coaches or players are wearing becomes very popular as well," said Miranda Bushman, Poor Boys.

And while we are not quite there yet, who can forget all the fun and excitement "Purple Friday" bring, along with the hope of a Super Bowl appearance.

"We're pumped for this right now. We're ready for this season to get started, so we can have a great season and hopefully we make it to the super bowl this year," said one fan.

It's a wish only time will tell.
