Checkers Employee Caught On Video Throwing Bun On Floor

BALTIMORE (WJZ)--It's a fast food eater's worst nightmare! Video surfaces of a Baltimore area Checkers employee wiping food of the floor!

WJZ's Rick Ritter has more on the franchise's response to the video that's gone viral.

It's jaw-dropping video that's left many checkers customers with a bad taste in their mouth.

The incident--that's racked up more than a million views on YouTube--appears to show a woman in a Checkers uniform dropping a bun on the ground and rubbing it into the floor, while other employees laugh.

She then picks it up and uses the soiled bread to make a sandwich!

It reportedly took place several weeks ago at a Checkers in a Baltimore suburb.

A spokeswoman for Checkers posted a response to the disturbing video.

"I, like you, am appalled and disappointed by what I saw in that video. This morning, we spoke to the employee in the video and her mother, and the employee is very sorry and embarrassed by what happened."

Checkers says the employee assured them the tainted sandwich was never served to a guest and the employees who were a part of the video are no longer working for the company.

Checkers officials went on to say they have 1,800 hardworking team members and the incident does not reflect typical behavior.

The exact location of the restaurant remains unknown.
