Dave Johnson On The MLB Playoff And Wild Card Race

Dave Johnson is a former MLB pitcher who played for the Pirates, Tigers, and Orioles.

Dave joined Ed and Steve to talk about the Orioles as we head into the tail end of the season and the playoff race.

Steve asked Dave about his thoughts on the Orioles calling up Jason Garcia. Dave doesn't believe this was a very good move for the Orioles to make saying, "I understand what Dan's doing, clearly he saw a big arm in the fall last year but he's not a polished pitcher. It's a strange move to me because they have a few guys pitching really well at triple A that could have been called up."

Ed asked Dave about his thoughts on the season Bud Norris has had. Dave acknowledged that his struggles this year are common among pitchers noting, "at some point you have to say it's not going to happen. I went through a similar situation where no matter what you do, nothing works, sometimes this stuff happens."

Dave went on to discuss his thoughts on the Orioles recent trade activity and the Toronto Blue Jays chances to overtake the Yankees for an AL East division title after landing David Price and Troy Tulowitzki before the trade deadline.
