Orioles Release RHP Bud Norris
BALTIMORE (WJZ)—More than a week after he was designated for assignment, the Baltimore Orioles have released Bud Norris on Saturday afternoon, according to our media partner The Baltimore Sun.
Norris was 2-9 with a 7.06 ERA in 18 games (11 starts) for the Orioles this year after going 15-8 with a 3.65 ERA in 28 starts in 2014.
In a tweet on July 31, Norris said, "Dear #Birdland, I'm sorry it got to this. 2014 was magical. I got sick and haven't been right since. Wish my teammates nothing but the best."
Norris is now free to sign with any team. If he doesn't, the Orioles are responsible for roughly $2.85 million remaining on his $8.8 million salary.
