IT And Cybersecurity Solutions Company VariQ Expanding

ROCKVILLE, Md. (AP) -- Officials in Maryland say IT and cybersecurity solutions company VariQ Corporation is expanding its presence in Montgomery County and will add more than 250 new jobs over the next five years.

The Maryland Department of Business & Economic Development announced Monday that the company plans to relocate its existing office in the county by moving to a larger space on Tower Oaks Boulevard in Rockville. The Department of Business & Economic Development says that to assist with the expansion it has approved a $280,000 conditional loan to the company. The Montgomery County Department of Economic Development has also approved a $100,000 conditional grant.

VariQ, which was founded in 2003, is headquartered in the District of Columbia. It currently has 17 employees in Maryland.
