Officials: MGM To Add Bus Stop At National Harbor Resort

OXON HILL, Md. (AP) -- Officials say MGM has decided to put a bus stop in front of its $1.3 billion National Harbor resort expected to open next year.

The Washington Post reports Bill Boasberg, the resort's general manager, said this week, after working with the Metro and Prince George's County, the company decided to add a bus stop near the casino's employee entrance.

The decision follows calls from residents, labor union and transportation officials for public transit access at the facility, where officials say 3,600 people are expected to work, including many county residents.

The Nevada-based company's original transportation plan banned public buses from the resort.

Metro says it's pleased with the company's decision and says it is still in discussions about adding a second bus stop to serve riders at the facility.
