WEATHER BLOG: Tropical Storm Drought Ends

The rather long drought of tropical systems in the Atlantic basin has come to an end with the birth of Tropical Storm Danny. Danny is expected to intensify over the next several days, eventually becoming a category 2 hurricane as it continues it's westward progression. It is many days from impacting even the Lesser Antilles though so there is still plenty of time where things my change before this system impacts the homeland. Here at home we have been dealing with a very warm to hot and humid air mass. There are a few spotty showers and storms west of Baltimore as of this writing. Showers and storms are expected to become more numerous as we move into Thursday and a cold front approached from the west.
