Report: Baltimore's Homicide Count Has Surpassed New York City's
BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- The number of homicides in Baltimore so far this year has surpassed the number of homicides in New York City, WJZ media partner The Baltimore Sun reports.
According to the Sun, a NYPD spokesman reports NYC saw 208 homicides as of Wednesday. Baltimore police reported 212 homicides so far this year.
Baltimore's deadliest year was in 1993 with 353 killings, while New York City's was in 1990 with 2,245 homicides.
