Davidsonville Road Rage Incident Leaves 1 Cyclist Struck, 1 Man Arrested

DAVIDSONVILLE, Md.  (WJZ)—A road rage incident left one man injured and one man arrested in Anne Arundel County on Saturday morning.

It happened just before 11:00 a.m. at St. George Barber Road and Governors Bridge Road in Davidsonville.

According to police, a bicyclist traveling south on St. George Barber Road waved an SUV to pass, as the vehicle approached the victim from behind. Police say, moments after signaling a wave to pass, the cyclist blocked the SUV from passing to be visible to oncoming traffic, as they approached a curve in the road.

It was during this time that the driver of an SUV attempted to pass the cyclist on the left side of the road, which caused a collision with the cyclists.

Police say the suspect, Michael Moody, 61, of Davidsonville, then left the scene but was later found on Riva Road.

According to an eyewitness, the suspect assaulted the victim after the collision, picked up the victim's bike tire, threw it into the woods and drove away.

The suspect is facing multiple charges, including second degree assault,  leaving a scene of an accident, reckless driving and negligent driving.

Police say the 59-year-old victim was transported and treated for a broken arm, and leg. He is currently listed in stable condition.
