4 Convicted In Fatal Shooting To Steal Boots Sentenced
UPPER MARLBORO, Md. (AP) -- Four men have been sentenced for their roles in the fatal shooting of a 15-year-old to steal the boots he was carrying.
The men, along with a fifth defendant, were convicted of crimes that include first-degree murder, robbery and use of a handgun in the killing of Charles Walker Jr.
Prosecutors say in February 2013, the five men were driving a stolen church van in Hillcrest Heights looking for someone to rob. Authorities say the men saw Walker carrying boot in a bag.
Police say two of the men approached Walker and pointed a handgun at him. Prosecutors say Walker was shot in the back as he ran away.
