Man Charged In Theft During Ocean City Fishing Tournament
OCEAN CITY, Md. (AP) -- A Maryland man has been accused of stealing fishing equipment from a fishing tournament in Ocean City.
The Daily Times of Salisbury reports that 38-year-old Dennis J. Tronosky Sr. of Berlin was arrested Saturday and charged with two counts of theft between $1,000 and $10,000.
Maryland Natural Resources Police officers searched Tronosky's residence and vehicle and say Tronosky stole about $5,600 worth of fishing equipment from vessels docked at the Ocean City Fishing Center during the White Marlin Open tournament in early August.
Each theft count could carry a penalty of $10,000 and 10 years. He was also charged as a convicted felon in possession of a firearm. The firearm charge carries a maximum penalty of up to 25 years in prison.
It is unclear if Tronosky has an attorney.
