Officials Investigating Fire At Salisbury Recycling Facility

SALISBURY, Md. (AP) -- Fire officials are investigating a fire that broke out at a recycling facility in Salisbury.

Assistant Chief of the Salisbury Fire Department Jim Gladwell says it took crews several hours to get the fire under control Wednesday at Eagle Recycling.

Fire Chief Rick Hoppes says when units arrive on the scene, they found a large pile of debris on fire.

Gladwell says fire crews used at least 400,000 to 500,000 gallons of water to help put out the fire.

Fire officials say two firefighters suffered minor injuries and were taken to an area hospital.

Gladwell says crews from Hebron, Fruitland, Parsonsburg and Delmar also responded to the fire.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
